Dr. Harrell addressed the board of trustees and staff of a major Florida foundation at their planning retreat. He spoke about the value of taking a strategic approach to grantmaking and compared a few of their historic grants to the stages in the development of a long range philanthropic journey by the foundation.

Dr. Harrell facilitated a workshop with the board and staff of a Louisiana foundation which concluded with a consensus on their strategic approach, grant types and giving styles they would use as a basis for the development of a new strategic plan for the foundation.
